Presented by Midsumma Festival, the Midsumma Art Award is a national, non-acquisitive visual arts award celebrating contemporary LGBTQIA+ artists working across all mediums.
Established in 2016, the annual award recognises artistic excellence and showcases outstanding queer artists whose work reflects personal and political perspectives on the world. Finalists are selected from across Australia, with their work exhibited as part of the 2027 Midsumma Festival.
Three prizes are awarded:

Major Prize: $6,000 cash.

People’s Choice Award: $1,000 cash.

Bundoora Homestead Art Prize: A development and exhibition opportunity at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, developed in collaboration with the winning artist to support their practice.
