Join PLATYPUS and Wreckers Artspace for a two-day celebration of the launch of PLATYPUS Essentials: 00–02 Energy, a new publication exploring energy, ecology, community and justice through art, writing and lived experience.
The second publication in the PLATYPUS Essentials series, 00–02 Energy brings together 26 contributions from more than 30 artists, writers, poets, researchers, historians and ecologists from Central Queensland and across Australia. Through essays, poetry, artworks and critical writing, the anthology examines the environmental, economic, queer and First Nations experiences connected to energy on this continent.
The publication is divided into two sections. [trans*mission] draws on a 400km cycling field trip through the Bowen Basin, investigating the landscapes, industries and communities that shape Australia’s coal economy. [distribution] expands the conversation through contributions that imagine new approaches to energy justice, sustainability and collective futures.
