Status Unknown: Matthew Newkirk & Aden Sargeant

5th - 16th November

POP Gallery

Matthew Newkirk and Aden Sargeant critically respond to the spectacle of Australian politics and media. Their work utilises the method of detournement to expose injustice through the appropriation, manipulation and subversion of motifs from mainstream politics, media and activist iconography.

Status Unknown presents work responding to their disillusionment with the dysfunctions of the political establishment in Australia by reframing the elements of political spectacle through site-based installation, video, and audio.
