WHEN : 2nd – 11th August / Opening 2nd August, 6:00 – 8:00pm
WHERE : Three White Rooms – 138 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington, Brisbane

Art lovers will have their hunger stimulated by a striking new exhibition from artist Will Irving. Through his aptly entitled exhibition ‘Food for Thought’, Will celebrates the glory of epicurean tastefulness at Three White Rooms in Paddington from 2- 11 August.

This new exposition will testify to a metamorphosis in Will’s artistry. Over the past two years, Will has been ‘looking into the works of the past masters to revolutionise the future’, rejecting the tradition, of rejecting traditions. Will Irving is a true maverick of the art world, whose work steadfastly refuses to sit comfortably in any particular genre. He is a revolutionary, championing a movement away from commercial art, used merely as contemporary interior decoration, towards art that is an integral and dynamic force within our lives.
More than twenty works on canvas, timber, paper and modern resins have been ‘cooked up’ using recipes from the Italian Renaissance to Australian surfboard shapers and nearly everything in between. With traditional artists’ ingredients like walnut oil and egg tempera, gallery visitors might think the paintings taste as good as they look.

Will, who usually exhibits Europe, is giving Brisbane a rare opportunity to savour his work; his next show will be at the Park Weggis, one of Switzerland’s most respected gourmet hotels.

‘Food for Thought’ is a celebration of the essence, the beauty, and the passion of gastronomy. Every painting on show is a feast for the eye, drawing you in to share the passion of its creator. This is a work that at once satisfies and delights, while leaving you hungry for more. It is not to be missed.
