Colour Masters

Deadline:

Mitchell Fine Art

Bold expressions of vibrant colour feature strongly in the upcoming exhibition ‘Colour Masters’ at Mitchell Fine Art in Fortitude Valley.

On display from Wednesday 24th August this striking exhibition showcases a range of Aboriginal artworks from Central Australia. Reflections of country and culture are portrayed through artistic design and contrasting colours.

These exquisite artworks have been created by a diverse selection of celebrated Central Australian Aboriginal artists. Artists on display include: Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Patrick Tjungurrayi, Judy Watson Napangardi, Kudditji Kngwarreye and Shorty Jangala Robertson.

Several stunning works from senior artist Eunice Napanangka Jack feature in the exhibition. Hailing from Haasts Bluff Napanangka is known for her kaleidoscope colour usage. Her work has been acquired in several major collections both internationally and nationally. She was recently selected for the seventh year as a finalist in the 2016 Telstra, National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAA).
