This coming weekend Saturday the 6th of August and Sunday the 7th of August is going to be massive for The Wandering Room as we unveil our first ever art prize Closer at our current space Dollhouse! We are inviting you and your family and friends to join us for the opening event on Saturday the 6th from 3pm until 6pm under the brand new blue Wandering Room marquee in the middle of New Farm Park!
Dollhouse is an actual dollhouse …and miniature gallery, and Closer is the fourth instalment of our 6 part program. Closer is a large group show of small scale works in various media from predominantly Brisbane-based emerging artists. All entrants are in the running to win our two prizes; a first place judge’s award of $250 and a full page in the upcoming third instalment of Independent Press including winning image and artist profile, and a ‘people’s choice’ award.
If you were not aware our three exceptionally qualified judges are Susan Ostling, Danielle Harrigan, and Manu + Eli. The judge’s decision will be announced at 5pm.
Feel free to bring along your own picnic rug and nibbles. The show will be open for viewing between 11am and 6pm on both days.
