Julie Paterson is an internationally renowned textile artist with a diverse background in the arts. Paterson’s work consists notably of Brisbane-based and inspired paintings and drawings of Brisbane ’s flora, fauna, and architecture. Her practice spans creative workshops, public speaking, collaborative partnerships and retail presences across Australia. Side Gallery is partnered with Julie to present a residency based exhibition in May 2019, of which the premise is on the architecture, flora, and fauna of inner suburbs of Brisbane.

In Conversation 16 May, 6 – 8 pm

Join Julie Paterson where she will be discussing her practice in a Q&A alongside curator Laura Brinin. Hear about Julie’s Side Gallery Artist in Residence process while enjoying a preview of the exhibition prior to the opening.

Opening Drinks 18 May, 6 – 8 pm

Julie’s residency will conclude with an exhibition where Julie has cut her complete large-format landscape into fragments of a Reparable Landscape for patrons to purchase. Join the artist for opening night drinks.
