Museum of Brisbane welcomes Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra as Artist in Residence in August.
Through musical play and composition, the eight musicians will respond to and activate the City in the Sun exhibition. The exhibition explores Brisbane’s history of migration, tourism, climate, environment and geographic location, resulting in an identity promoted as a subtropical oasis of leisure and abundance. Sharing their time between The Studio and the exhibition, Camerata will put artistic process and collaboration on display as they create unique immersive experiences for Museum visitors in solo and paired responses to the exhibition content in City in the Sun. The musical adventure will culminate in a series of performances at Museum of Brisbane in August.
Responding to the residency at Museum of Brisbane, Camerata says, “These stories offer unique moments to reflect on our city and identity.”
