TOTEMS is Benjamin Werner’s latest series of text-based works, humorously critiquing his experiences in the art world. As Director of All City Arts, Werner brings a nuanced perspective on both local and international art circles.In this exhibition, Werner explores rhyming and pun-laden references to well-known artists and arts workers, both international and Brisbane-based. The series playfully reflects the personalities, hierarchies, and complexities that shape the art industry, offering an insider’s view on its unique dynamics.
