Mitchell Fine Art presents the debut Australian solo exhibition of Indonesian artist Arwin Hidayat. Titled It Turns Out I’m Still Breathing, the show runs from 29 July to 23 August in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

Renowned for his dynamic and symbolically rich works, Hidayat’s practice blends Indonesian folk traditions with contemporary storytelling. His pieces feature distorted human forms, serpents, birds, and motifs drawn from Indonesia’s social and moral fabric. The exhibition showcases painting, ceramics, and batik—each medium layered with cultural memory and technical mastery.

Recently commissioned by Zimmermann for their Beijing flagship, Hidayat is gaining international attention for his fearless and visually arresting work. This exhibition marks a significant moment for Brisbane audiences to experience his bold exploration of tradition and hybridity.
