Join the IMA for the final instalment of its fiftieth anniversary forum series, Pecha Kucha: Visions for the Future. This public event brings together artists, thinkers, and collaborators to imagine what the IMA—and contemporary art itself—might look like fifty years from now.
Through rapid-fire Pecha Kucha presentations, speakers speculate on possible futures: from rising seas and shifting political landscapes to new art forms, institutional models, and reimagined cultural priorities. Presenters Blaklash, Sarah Poulgrain and Llewellyn Millhouse (Wreckers Artspace), Dirk Yates, and Tara Heffernan take the floor, guided by story-thinking expert Dr Joanne Anderton from UQ’s WhatIF Lab.
This is a free, seated event and all are welcome. Registration is encouraged to confirm attendance.
2025 marks the IMA’s fiftieth year of connecting local, national, and international contemporary art. As part of this milestone, the IMA presents three public forums: two reflecting on the past and one looking boldly into the future.
