Metro Arts invites audiences into the studio for a live showing of new works-in-progress by Alycia Bennett and Tara Pattenden, developed during their SEED FUND creative residency.
Working across DIY strategies, interactive media, instrument-making, sound, and performance, Bennett and Pattenden come together for the first time—not to present finished outcomes, but to test, provoke, and unsettle their creative processes in real time. This open studio offers a rare glimpse into the early stages of collaboration, where ideas remain fluid, responsive, and unresolved.
Audiences can expect an experimental and immersive experience, encountering sonic fragments, emerging systems, and performative gestures as they evolve. The event foregrounds process over product, inviting dialogue between artists and audience.
This Open Studio marks the first of the 2026 SEED FUND residencies and is part of an ongoing collaboration between Metro Arts (Brisbane) and Adelaide Contemporary Experimental (ACE), supporting ambitious and process-led contemporary practices across contexts.
Date & Time: Thursday 9 April, 6:30pm
