A charged, live showing of new works-in-progress by Alycia Bennett and Tara Pattenden, this open studio invites audiences into an unfolding creative process shaped by experimentation, collaboration, and risk.
Working across DIY strategies, interactive media, instrument-making, sound, and performance, Bennett and Pattenden come together for the first time—not to present resolved outcomes, but to test, provoke, and unsettle their own practices in real time. This is an opportunity to encounter early-stage ideas as they emerge: sonic fragments, evolving systems, and exploratory gestures that remain fluid and responsive.
Developed during a shared week of experimentation, the session offers a rare glimpse into the initial stages of collaboration. Audiences are invited to engage directly with the artists as they navigate this process, reflecting on material, method, and possibility.
Expect something raw, responsive, and still taking shape.
This event is part of the 2026 SEED FUND residencies, a new initiative supporting process-led artistic development. It also marks the beginning of an ongoing collaboration between Metro Arts (Brisbane) and Adelaide Contemporary Experimental (ACE), with the project continuing in Adelaide later in 2026.
