Join the Institute of Modern Art for a panel discussion responding to Erika Scott’s exhibition Cambium Itch.
Known for her maximalist sculptural installations, Erika Scott transforms the detritus of consumer culture into immersive and often overwhelming environments. In Cambium Itch, six hundred PVC pipes pierce the gallery walls, creating a sprawling network that explores the spaces where creative thought, growth and transformation emerge.
This public conversation brings together leading Queensland curators to reflect on the exhibition’s themes, materials and broader cultural significance. The discussion will be facilitated by IMA Public Programs Manager Madeline Brewer and features:
• Carrie McCarthy, Director, Griffith University Art Museum
• Keemon Williams, Assistant Curator Indigenous Australian Art, QAGOMA
• Kyle Weise, Curator, University of Queensland Art Museum
The panel offers an opportunity to gain deeper insight into Scott’s practice and the ideas driving one of the IMA’s current exhibitions.
