Info:
Excess All Areas explores consumer culture and society’s relationship with waste through humour, colour and critical reflection.
Presented by the New Quotidian Collective, the exhibition draws upon the visual language of advertising, packaging and branding to examine the pervasive influence of capitalism on everyday life. Through vibrant imagery and found materials, the artists highlight the familiarity of consumer messages that shape contemporary culture.
The collective also incorporates practices such as walking and public transport journeys to investigate urban environments scattered with discarded objects and consumer waste. These small but intentional acts challenge dominant narratives of endless economic growth while providing inspiration and material for new creative works.
Combining digital collage, found imagery and observations from daily life, Excess All Areas invites audiences to reconsider the objects, messages and systems that surround them.
Free entry. No bookings required. Suitable for all ages.
