Entries are now open for the 2026 Basil Sellers Art Prize, a major national acquisitive art prize presented by The Bas in Moruya, NSW.
Celebrating excellence in traditional 2D practice, the biennial prize welcomes artists from across Australia working in painting, drawing and unique-state printmaking. The 2026 prize pool exceeds $55,000, including the $50,000 acquisitive Major Prize, the $5,000 Eurobodalla Award for a local artist, and a $500 People’s Choice Award.
Known for its artist-first approach, the Basil Sellers Art Prize helps reduce barriers to participation by covering courier costs for finalists and providing a $100 framing subsidy for exhibited works.
