Mitchell Fine Art presents Incantation, a major exhibition by one of Australia’s leading contemporary landscape artists, Idris Murphy.
The exhibition brings together two significant bodies of work: a rare collection of previously unseen dioramas alongside a new series of paintings inspired by the Australian outback.
Combining three-dimensional works with expansive, luminous landscapes, Incantation offers insight into Murphy’s evolving practice and his enduring exploration of the emotional and spiritual experience of the Australian landscape.
Murphy’s work is held in the public collections of the National Gallery of Australia, National Library of Australia, Federal Parliament House Art Collection, Art Gallery of NSW, State Library of New South Wales and State Library of Queensland.
