Trade Practice examines the divergent creative lineage of labour through the shared history of blue-collar work.
Daniel Wallwork, Jack Rodgers and Matthew Rees draw on techniques and experiences from signwriting, automotive spray painting and commercial trades, integrating these practices into their artistic processes.
Their work includes unsettling, metallic-sheened creatures, abstracted historic imagery and objects reproduced through industrial processes. Presented together, the works question where the label of “artist” can be applied and what may be considered a formal art practice.
