White Flag is a solo exhibition by Brisbane-based artist Bruce Reynolds, whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, photography, inter-media and sculpture.
Reynolds responds to the urban environment through its materiality, creating a dialogue between recent histories and the archaic. His practice is informed by research into the historic migration of ideas and forms between Europe and Asia, including journeys to Bangladesh, China, Malta, England, Germany and Italy.
Based in Woolloongabba, Reynolds grew up in Canberra and has English and Nigerian migrant heritage. He has lectured in painting, photography, inter-media and sculpture, and was awarded a doctorate in 2019 for The Persistence of Relief. In 2025, he created his largest work to date, a 100-square-metre relief at North Quay, Brisbane.
