Anya Swan & Merete Megarrity: This Ur

Deadline:

The Hold Artspace

Working in the same studio space at the Queensland College of Art, Anya Swan and Merete Megarrity have discovered a certain affinity. Connecting to the bush-like area where she lives, Merete’s artwork quietly prods at experience, language and understanding. Anya’s work, on the other hand, investigates meaning by examining the rituals and worships that undertow people’s behaviour. In both practices there is a sense of observation: and here, in This Ur, Anya and Merete draw on this to present two bodies of work that speak with a compassion and melancholic joy for contemporary existence.

Opening Night: Friday 28 August, 6-8pm
