In this workshop we will take a close look at what funding is available for your projects on a local, state and federal level. What are assessment panels looking for? How is your application assessed? How do you best address the criteria and select which grants are the best ones for your projects and how you can align with local/state and federal strategic plans. This workshop will be run by Backbone CEO and Artistic Director Katherine Quigley and Backbone producer Deb Suckling.
Katherine Quigley is Backbone’s Artistic Director & Chief Executive Officer. She has spent the better part of 15 years writing grants for individuals, organistions and groups for local state and federal funding across music, theatre and festivals/events, community and non-profits. She’s an assessor for Arts Queensland and the Australia Council. Kath is particularly passionate about the way that grant applications can push an idea into reality – with or without the funding – just by being a reason and excuse to build on and expand a creative concept.
Deb Suckling has been working in the arts industry for almost 2 decades with a number of organisations. She is a professional grant writer has written dozens of applications – specifically music and project based. She was a peer assessor for the Australia Council for the Arts from 2014 – 2017 and is currently a peer assessor for Arts Queensland.
