Ricky Larry is an Australian artist currently based in Brisbane (Meanjin) and graduated from Queensland College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 2014, currently studying Masters of Fine Art at QCA. Ricky’s multidisciplinary practice is informed by a pop sensibility with elaborate, surreal installation and sculptures of banal objects and consumer goods. These campy detournements stage an immersive environment that makes familiar objects strange. The sculptures ruminate on personal and cultural politics, alienation and the complexities of the human experience. Ricky Larry has shown at The Walls Gallery, Gold Coast and Cut Thumb ARI, Brisbane as well as Knox Street window, Sydney Australia.
Exhibition Opening: Saturday 15th Oct, 6:00pm
