Lets Face It

Deadline:

Ross Street Studio 22 Ross Street, Newstead

WHEN : 16th May, 5:00pm
WHERE : Ross Street Studio 22 Ross Street, Newstead

Let’s Face It, an evening of live collaboration with twelve of the region’s leading artists and graphic designers is set to take place in Brisbane in mid-May. After the success of last year’s event, this, the second Let’s Face It will also serve as the pre-party for Brisbane’s pre-eminent creative conference Analogue Digital.

This unique event promises live tshirt artistry in a lively atmosphere, created by an undeniably colourful collection of hand-picked artists including Mulga the Artist, Loretta Lizzio, Roiltee by Stu Vidler, Ben Johnston, Tabitha Shafran, Alarna Zinn, NIck Chalmers, Listen to the graphics and many more. We have also commissioned artwork from some Australian legends specifically for this event, including Ken Done and Reg Mombassa, to be screened live on the night by some very special guests. All of this takes place to the soundtrack of some bangin’ tunes by #UmYep – Dj’s Yum Cha, Electric Postman and Me From The Future.

Set in a modern industrial-style Newstead studio, the headquarters to some of Brisbane’s leading creatives including Sam Thies Photography, Let’s Face It takes selected portions of ‘face-themed’ artwork from the 12 participating artists, and mashes them to create a unique artistic re-mix. The resultant designs, each a one-off artwork containing the collaborative talent of several local artists, are screen-printed onto tshirts live at the event.

Tshirts can be purchased pre-ordered or purchased at the event and, with a maximum of just 50 tshirts being produced, are tipped to be highly collectable works of art.

With strong agendas in promoting both established and emerging local artists, interactive live collaboration and the use of high-quality, ethical tshirt manufacturers, Let’s Face It is shaping up to be a premier art show in Brisbane in 2013.

Visit www.iliketees.com.au for more information, designs will visible on the site shortly.

Let’s Face It is brought to you by Dan Hancock, Chris Clark and Cam Mackay.
